Life Mission:
First and foremost, my mission is to love God and faithfully obey him. Second, my desire is to care for my husband, children, and grandchild and serve God and love people where he calls me to serve. My spiritual gifts include worship and intercession. After being a small part of the music industry in the world for four years, I made the decision to use my musical talents to serve God through worship in the church.
I was an English professor at Barclay College for seven years before feeling called into full-time ministry through FMI. For 23 years I was a full-time mother and pastor’s wife, which is a calling unto itself. Now my kids are adults, and I am feeling drawn to minister in new ways through intercession, writing, worship, and speaking. If you need a worship leader or a keynote speaker for a women’s event or parenting event, please email me at stacey@familyministryinstitute.com for more information. I speak on primarily three topics:
My desire is to see people find freedom and healing from the chains and broken areas that bind them. I was healed from an eating disorder that had me bound from 1983-1987. Through Tony’s love and the transforming power of God, I have been healed and have never returned to the terrible bondage and crushing darkness of an eating disorder. Whether you are enslaved to food, sex, drugs, alcohol, or co-dependency, Christ came to bring healing and freedom, and I feel called to help bring the Kingdom of God to hurting people in this area of pain. Christ came to set the captives free!
My heartbeat and mission come from Isaiah 61:1-3, (paraphrased): “to proclaim good news to the poor, bind up the brokenhearted, proclaim freedom for the captives, release from darkness for the prisoners, comfort all who mourn, and have a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.” Along with worship, I love to write, and my goal is to be an author and speaker who points people to the ultimate Provider, Healer, and Shepherd: Jesus Christ.

The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion—to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.
ISAIAH 61:1-3
I love being a wife and mom, and now, grandma. With my undergraduate degree and master of arts degree in English, you can tell that I am a reader and a writer. I taught college-level English for seven years and greatly enjoyed working with the students. Partly because of my love for writing and reading, I enjoy using social media.
I love to spend time studying and reading scripture, allowing God to speak to my heart and minister to me and provide insight and resources to encourage and love others. I am always honored when I am able to speak or lead worship. I have a heart of compassion for hurting people and regularly intercede in prayer for my family and for people God puts on my heart. You can visit my facebook page under Stacey Long Wheeler or Instagram under staceydwheeler go to Arisemybeloved.com and also look at my daughter Adele’s blog at HomeChronicles or HomeChroniclesblog.com and if you want to see more about our family.
